BARBARA ALCALDE
The trajectory of the plastic artist Bárbara Alcalde began through sculpture at a very early age on her own initiative, winning awards at state and national level; since then she began her search, going through many techniques: clay modelling, plaster casting, granite, charcoal, oil and acrylic painting, glass, photography, animation, film and architecture, all this in different cities such as Mexico City, San Francisco and Paris, having as teachers artists of the stature of Armando Morales and Dale Chaihuly. A few years ago he came across fractals and thus the possibility of expressing himself in painting, sculpture and architecture through mathematics: digital art.
She has exhibited in different solo and group exhibitions in America, Europe and Asia.
Her work has been selected for several Contemporary Art books among them, The New York Encyclopedia of Latin American Contemporary Art and "Memoirs of Artists 2003-2014" by the Society of Independent Artists in Paris.
She has received several awards at biennials such as the Lorenzo Medice Medal at the Florence Biennale.
She was recently selected as an Apple Artist.
